There are many holidays in commemoration of different events and they are celebrated at specific dates throughout the year. When a holiday is declared, you would rely on the stun gun effects for your safety since a lot of people would be swarming the streets and the different vacation destinations. But not only that, it is very important that before any celebration, you have to understand why such day is commemorated.

Labor Day is celebrated in America on the month of September on its first Monday. As what the Department of Labor has mentioned it is a moment “dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers." Aside from that it is a celebration of the "strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country." It is a day for the workforce in the country which has made a great impact on the progress of the country.

You can owe this holiday to two honorable individuals, Peter J. McGuire and Matthew Maguire. The former was the co-founder of the American Federation of Labor and was identified as the general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers. He proposed to recognize a special day to commemorate the efforts of the laborers. The latter on the other hand who was the secretary of the International Association of Machinists suggested the holiday in the Central Labor Union in New York. This celebration started as a community holiday but then it spread along other states until it was recognized nationwide.

There are different instances on how this day is commemorated. But usually, it starts with a picnic and ends with a fireworks display. If you want to join the celebration in your local community and bring your family along, try to learn about the schedule of the parade. You can dress up wearing silly hats on your head. When going with the crowd, remember to bring your streetwise stun baton for more safety. During such event, you can listen to speeches of prominent people in your community.

After going to the parade, you can head on to the beach or the park. You can have barbecues for your meal. Grilled food is what most people cook during the Labor Day. Match it with fresh fruits like watermelon so that your kids will be able to enjoy the food that you prepared. Eat the food together with the people close to you like your family and friends.

Lastly, when the sun starts to set, head on to the place where the fireworks display will be held. Make sure that you brought your camera with you so that you will be able to appreciate even more the various presentations. If you wish to bring your little kids, makes sure that you will be able to hold on to them once in a while so that they will not get lost in a very large crowd.

This is the short overview of how Labor Day began. It is a special day for all the workers in America who have contributed to its social and economic progress. There are a lot of things that you can do on this day and it is best spent when with people close to you to whom you dedicate all your hard work and labor.
